KIDS PROGRAMS - STARTER TENNIS

STARTER TENNIS

Are you the kind of parent who wants your child to grow up with strong self-esteem and healthy habits?

Tennis offers children a wide range of benefits, not only physically, but also psychologically and socially. In these early stages, play is a key part of the learning process and the common thread that gradually helps shape their character and personality. Through tennis, children learn the value of effort, self-improvement, and how to manage their relationships with teammates, opponents, and coaches based on respect, empathy, and emotional control

KIDS TENNIS PROGRAM YEAR-ROUND

Our Starter Tennis Program is designed for our youngest players, who are just starting to get familiar with the game of tennis. Thanks to the great weather in the Maresme area, it is also an ideal after-school activity for young children.

At this stage, the main goal is to develop the technique behind the basic strokes of the game, so they can gradually internalise and automate them over time. Fun plays a key role in these early learning stages, which is why training sessions are based on a wide range of playful sports activities.

These are group classes, with special attention given to motor skills development, where boys and girls learn in a fun and enjoyable environment while gradually building a love for tennis.

WHAT AGE CAN CHILDREN START PLAYING TENNIS?

This is a very common question. Playing sport is essential, and the earlier we help children build healthy sporting habits, the better. That said, it also depends on each child’s coordination, motor skills, and overall ability.

From around the age of 3 or 4, children may already have developed enough basic movement skills to start getting into tennis. It is also true that, for years now, brands have been offering junior rackets in different sizes, adapted to each child’s height, making it easier for them to enjoy the game and hit the ball cleanly and safely. At the same time, fun is a key part of learning at this age, so it is important to make sure children are enjoying themselves and taking part alongside other kids their age.

Tennis is a very complete sport in which children develop not only physically, but also psychologically, helping to shape their personality and strengthen their cognitive skills. At the same time, because tennis is such a mental sport, young players begin learning from a very early age how to think, make decisions, and later on, how to read matches and understand their opponents. In short, they learn to develop their emotional intelligence.

At these early ages, the Mini Tennis programmes at MBA Tennis Academy are focused on developing the technique behind the game’s basic strokes, so that children can gradually internalise and automate them over time. Through mini tennis sessions and dynamic games, they learn to coordinate their movements, judge distances, and build confidence right from the start.

¿A QUÉ EDAD SE PUEDE EMPEZAR A JUGAR A TENIS? </span
